Honesty & Generosity

This week I received an e-mail saying that one of our children would be leaving the project. AT first this was a disappointment as usually when a child drops out it is due to worsening family circumstances. However, in this case, when I asked the reason for the decision, I received a pleasant surprise. The child's father has found a steady job at the agricultural experimentation centre in San Benito. As the family will now have a steady income, the family has decided that their son should give up his position in the project so that another less fortunate child can benefit from it. Refreshing honesty indeed!

Sotogrande Ladies' Golf Tournament

On Tuesday November 15th. the ladies of Sotogrande Golf Club held a charity tournament in aid of La Esperanza.  18 ladies in 6 teams braved the rain and raised a tidy sum for our work in Bolivia.  Another new sponsor came on board so that was a lovely afternoon.  Once again sincere thanks to the ladies and to their captain Yolanda who organised this event and made it such a success.

2012 Calendar

This year our calendar is based around reproductions of watercolours by Andrea Blikstad who was our very first sponsor and has continued to be a most valuable support over the years.  Andrea's passion is flowers and all the paintings displayed in the calendar are of plants and flowers symbolising the different seasons of the year.  The response to the calendar has been most encouraging so far and we hope you will enjoy these delicate paintings throughout the year to come.

The sales success is due in no small measure to the astounding sales prowess of another of our sponsors, Véronique Dutfield. I am truly grateful to you all for your support.
